Harvest thanksgiving Mass

The annual Mass of thanksgiving for the harvest will be on Saturday, 8th September, at 12 noon at St Mary Magdalene Church in Stony Stratford.

We hope that it will be possible to have refreshments and a sale of produce in the parish hall after the Mass, if it is possible to reopen the hall by then. If not, then we will have refreshments and a sale of produce in the parish garden and presbytery meeting room.

You are invited to bring gifts as a thanksgiving for the harvest – homegrown fruits and vegetables are always welcome, as are items purchased from local shops or farmers’ markets. Wherever we buy our food, we give thanks to God for the abundance of choice and produce we are able to enjoy in this country … and we remember, and pray for, those who are not so fortunate.

Gifts of produce can be brought to the hall (or meeting room, if necessary) on the morning of the Mass. A few items will be put into the Sanctuary during the Mass, but we regret it is not possible to display all donations during the Mass, because of the need for the clergy to be able to move around in the Sanctuary during the celebration of Mass!
